We The Unhoused

Feb 8, 2020

In Part 2 of "Down In The Valley," we hear more first hand accounts of the war on the unhoused, declared by Councilmembers Nury Martinez, John Lee, and the rest of City Hall. Theo interviews unhoused residents of Chatsworth and Van Nuys, who bravely describe the world of the terror they endure. Optimistic guest Brooke Carrillo believes in staying positive and building solidarity in the face of state violence. Jeffrey Green reminds us that being unhoused can happen to anyone, while Jason Brackett and Jason Brazel express dismay at being criminalized while trying to work and recover from a debilitating injury. And finally, Theo talks with unhoused Van Nuys resident Jeremy Meier, who remains resolute and wishes for others to walk in the shoes of the Unhoused.
